I Have A Season Pass, Bitches!
Greg and I had a fantastic — dare I say EPIC — weekend in Tahoe. We both got season passes at Squaw Valley USA and it was our first trip up this year.
I had a great day on Saturday and was having an even better day on Sunday. My secret? In years-past, my normal M.O. was to have a cautious morning and then ski really well in the afternoon…which I attributed to the beer(s) consumed at lunch. So, I took it upon myself to drink a beer while getting ready in the parking lot in the morning to put those initial inhibitions at bay. I was right!
I was skiing terrain well beyond my believed skill level and loving it. I was taking risks. I was calling Fear a bitch to Its face. We were skiing the “Tower 16” run — notoriously ungroomed, full of moguls and powder (neither of which I am good at). Also, it was foggy as hell. We got past the initial REALLY steep part and I was feeling very daring in the semi-steep part.
Then I said to Greg, “Hey, let’s get some video of this disaster.” And I let ‘er rip! Arms flying! Legs apart!
I was totally killing it…!
I made that mountain my bitch. I’ll do it again next weekend. And the next.
I have a Season Pass!
Okay, now I’m re-thinking a mini-ski get away with you this season!
